However, from the ashes, a phoenix arose as the establishment was reborn as a "to go" business nestled in the back of Jake's Ice Cream Parlor. Then, Smokey's reopened in August 2021 under ownership of Brian Sanders.

In January 2023, this beloved establishment was given new life under the dedicated ownership of Jodie Mitchell.
